Things to Do in the Algarve

The Algarve is much more than a summer destination. Beyond its coastline lies a region of historic towns and villages, vineyards, orchards, local producers, walking trails and landscapes that change beautifully with the seasons.

We have lived and worked here for many years, and discovering the region has become an important part of what we do. Alongside Gato Preto, we run Algarve Food Experience, creating private food, wine and nature experiences that have brought us into contact with producers, winemakers, cooks, farmers and other local professionals across the Algarve.

During your stay, you will receive our own guides to exploring the Algarve, created from years of travelling, working and living in the region. They bring together a personal selection of places and recommendations that we prefer to reserve for our guests.

You can use them to set off and explore independently, talk to us about what you would like to see and do, or let us arrange something for you through Algarve Food Experience.

From walking and cycling through the countryside to food and wine, local producers and some of the traditions that still shape life here, there are many ways to experience the Algarve beyond simply seeing its sights.
